Charleston, SC: Bogus CRISIS! in Teen Pregnancy

Featured

don-t-believe-the-hype-t-shirts_design

Sexual Rights Advocates claim the victory for the lowest teen pregnancy rates in decades. They even claim responsibility for the majority of teens choosing to abstain from sex, yet none of their programs promote sexual abstinence or teach the skills to do so.

In order to keep the media hype going and millions of taxpayer dollars flowing in their direction, these teen sex advocates must claim victory where there is none. They use these bogus claims to convince school districts that all teens will have sex so that they will adopt their Planned Parenthood Sex Programs, exclusively, for middle and high school students.

Teen pregnancy rates have been trending downward for well over two decades. In SC, abstinence-until-marriage education was first funded in 1996 under Welfare Reform. Until then, condoms-only programs were the norm, resulting in skyrocketing teen pregnancy rates. Since 1996, pregnancy rates for teens (15-17) and adolescents (10-14) have dramatically decreased by 60% and 80%, respectively.

Heritage Keepers® is the predominant Abstinence-Until-Marriage Education program used in South Carolina schools over the past two decades. It is the only abstinence-until-marriage program in the nation listed by U.S. HHS as an Evidence-Based Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program.(2012) This list of 35 programs is used by school districts to select sex education programs for their students.

Independent evaluation of Heritage Keepers® in SC public schools reveals that a year after the program, Heritage Keepers® students initiated sexual activity at a rate that is 67% lower than non-program students.

This evaluation included 2,215 sexually experienced and inexperienced students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade, with 63% of the students African-American.

Heritage Keepers® was shown to be effective across age, gender, and race.

These are amazing behavioral outcomes in the science of teen pregnancy prevention.

In Charleston County, Heritage Keepers® is the only Abstinence-Until-Marriage Education program approved for the public schools, while “safe sex” condom programs are also on the list. When Heritage Keepers® Certified Educators arrive on campus, the sexual climate of the entire school changes.

Students choosing to abstain feel validated, and those contemplating a return to abstinence are empowered to follow through on their goals.

Pregnancy rates in Charleston have declined even more dramatically than the state, with pregnancy rates for teens (15-17) and adolescents (10-14) decreasing by 72% and 90%, respectively.

So, is contraception use driving down pregnancy rates? Not according to the most recent CDC Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) for SC released in 2014.

According to the YRBS, only 32% of SC high school teens were currently sexually active at the time of the survey. That means that almost 70% of high school teens in SC were not having sex! Who knew?

The survey also showed that there was a:

  • 26% increase (2005-2013) in teens who DID NOT USE a condom during last sexual intercourse.
  • 80% of girls DID NOT USE birth control pills to prevent pregnancy before last sexual intercourse. (UNCHANGED since 1995), and
  • 95% of girls DID NOT USE an IUD before last sexual intercourse.

The YRBS further reveals that between 1995 and 2013 more teens abstained from sexual activity. There was a:

  • 28% decrease in high school teens who have EVER had sex.
  • 49% decrease in 9th grade teens who have EVER had sex.
  • 46% decrease in 4 or more life time partners.
  • 30% decrease in high school teens who are sexually active.

Clearly, contraception is not the only reason that pregnancy rates have decreased, since their use has flat lined. The facts show that sexually active teens are not increasing contraception use! And, more teens are abstaining from sex.

Since “safe sex” condom programs used in SC do not teach teens how to abstain from sexual activity or teach about the benefits of abstinence and marriage, how can they take credit for any increases in abstinent behaviors?

They can’t, but they do!

The complicit media will not report the good news from the YRBS, because it does not fit the Sexual Rights narrative. They continue the drum beat demanding that abstinence-until-marriage education programs have failed and must be kicked out of schools in favor of Planned Parenthood Sex Programs.

Don’t believe the hype about a teen pregnancy crisis in need of the Planned Parenthood solution.

It is only a distraction to hide the Sexual Rights Agenda, which has nothing to do with health. It has everything to do with recruiting adolescents and teens into a sexual lifestyle that benefits their business model.

It’s all about the money.

Sex Ed Racists and Bigots

Featured

HowIsPornAddicative_HiRes

People raised with strong beliefs about certain classes of people, faiths, income or education levels, intelligence, lifestyles, knowledge or ideologies, find it difficult to tolerate other beliefs. Neural pathways develop during early years making it easier to think, accept and act based on their own perspectives.

Unless something dramatic happens in their lives, this is their world and life view.

Many Black and White parents in the South taught their children “to not judge others by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Thanks to Dr. King, we saw results from those efforts in Charleston, SC after the tragic slaughter of nine faith leaders at Mother Emanuel AME Church. Much of Charleston’s response was based on looking beyond color to the content of character and understanding that it is the inside of a person that causes evil, not the outside.

Racism and bigotry are learned behaviors.

There is another, more insidious type of racism and bigotry doing great harm to all people and their families. That is the bigotry of low expectations, especially regarding sexual behavior. Planned Parenthood, SIECUS, and other Sexual Rights Bigots have targeted children for over 30 years through Comprehensive Health Education. These racists and bigots have specifically targeted Black, and other minority, children by using them to “test” sex programs and then by herding them into those sex programs through public schools.

For decades, these sex programs have taught that most kids their age are having sex, which is a lie, and that they have a right to experience sexual pleasures regardless of the consequences. (Kinsey Sex) As a result, millions suffer and are enslaved to a Master – the Government.

No one escapes this enslavement. Either you are forced to pay for welfare entitlements with your taxes or you must subsist on them. Many do both. Unless new generations learn the life-script for success and self-sufficiency, there will be nothing, but further social decline for our children and grandchildren.

There is simply not enough money in the world to support a welfare system that has more dependents than those paying into it.

Change is not easy. The majority of adults – who have never known a day without birth control, abortion, and STDs and have no idea how to form healthy relationships or make marriages work – are raising children to do the same. Not only are their brains wired, their children’s teachers, also groomed, normalize sex acts as entertainment. Sex is just sex. They cannot imagine a world where sex is meant for life-long marriage, intimacy, and procreation or where healthy married families thrive.

Their world is a complex mix of chaotic families, single parents, divorce, STDs, abortion, infertility, porn, sex trafficking, lack of job skills, poverty, domestic and sexual abuse, life-long dependency on welfare, depression and addictions, and more and more indulgence in sex acts as entertainment to escape their dire reality.

Many so-called “safe sex” programs do not teach children about puberty, conception, or reproduction. And, none teach your child about abstinence until marriage or about the benefits of marriage. They use pregnancy and STD prevention to teach sex acts (tricks), grooming the masses for self-destruction.

The proven, ideal life-script for centuries has been censored in public schools for decades. The benefits of marriage and delaying sex until marriage are barred topics from health and sex classes. Even now that Same Sex Marriage has been legalized in the U.S., these subjects are censored! (This proves that much of the Same Sex Marriage Movement is/was about sexual freedoms, not about so-called equal rights or about family.) Students are not taught how sex leads to pregnancies and babies, and therefore when pregnancies occur, they demand that the baby be eliminated. “I didn’t sign up for this! All I wanted was great sex!” Cohabitation and hook-ups are presented as normal, expected, healthy lifestyle choices, regardless of the impact on children.

There is institutional racism and bigotry within our government and academic bureaucracies to transform all people into sexually dependent minions. This is a bi-partisan issue! Both Republican and Democrat leaders have promoted this agenda in our schools and state agencies since the early 60’s. Federal funding will only pay for the implementation of Planned Parenthood Sex Programs in school districts, eliminating quality Evidence-based Abstinence Until Marriage Education programs from consideration. As a result, Sexperts teach vulnerable adolescents and teens how to perform “fun and pleasurable” sex acts to fit the Planned Parenthood/Sexual Rights narrative that “all teens will have sex,” thus leading them down the dark path towards chaos and welfare dependency.

These racists and bigots discriminate against entire classes of people, based on race, gender, and religion, to push their new world order. They target the most vulnerable when their brains are experiencing rapid growth.

The only solution is for parents to take responsibility for teaching their own children about sex, reproduction, and marriage.

Parents need to opt out (Sample from Defend the Family or write your own) of all classes or programs teaching sexual information and/or that refuse to teach about delaying all sexual activity until marriage, and the benefits of marriage. If the schools will not allow you to sit in on all of the sex classes for your child and allow you to view all DVDs, workbooks, and teacher manuals of a sex program, then we recommend that you opt out. Please, do not blindly turn your child over to the state. You have options.

Parents and their kids can sign up for Evidence-based classes in the community. And, faith leaders can be trained to teach science-based, medically accurate lessons consistent with their faith.

Tell your schools to teach Johnny and Susie to read, write and do math, and leave the sex information to you, the parents!

What are Predictors of Sexual Activity?

Through more than twenty years of reviewing surveys of more than 650,000 students across the USA, Central America and Russia, Dr. Stan Weed of the Institute for Research and Evaluation has identified statistically significant predictors of whether a young person is likely to abstain or initiate sex.

If your teen exhibits any of the above statements, they may be more likely to initiate early sexual activity than someone who does not.

It is important for parents to understand these Predictors of Sexual Activity and be able address them as they talk to their teen about sex and their intentions to abstain. While many predictors cannot be easily changed, these predictors are subject to your influence and if you are not doing the influencing, you may be assured that someone else – in school, through the media, or in your teen’s peer group – is!

The Heritage Keepers® Abstinence-Until-Marriage Education program is designed around these scientifically derived Predictors of Sexual Activity. This means that every Certified Heritage Keepers® Educator has been trained to positively influence these Predictors in every lesson that they teach.

This is why the Heritage Keepers® program works to increase abstinence! It is also the ONLY Abstinence-Until-Marriage Education Curriculum listed by US Health and Human Services as an Evidence-based Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program!

After one year, Heritage Keepers® students abstain at a rate 3 times that of non-program students!

In SC, Heritage Community Services conducts FREE workshops to introduce the program, provide resources, and inform participants about how they can be empowered to protect teens from risky behaviors. Each participant or couple receives a copy of our adult training manual entitled Sex, Lies and Hook Ups: A Parent’s Guide to Fighting Back

Heritage Keepers staff have trained school districts, state health departments, and non-profits to provide their program nationally and internationally. Contact us today about the Heritage Keepers® program!

Fifty Shades…about child sexual abuse!

child sexual abuseWho is writing about the child sexual abuse depicted in Fifty Shades of Grey? All the buzz is about so-called “consensual sex;” about how all sexual behaviors are normal and healthy, as long as no one gets hurt. Really? What about Christian?

Anne Lee, the founder of Darkness to Light, a non-profit based in Charleston, SC, knows first-hand about child sexual abuse. Darkness to Light trains adults in how to protect children from sexual predators.

Many of the principles taught in the Darkness to Light trainings are violated in Comprehensive Sex Education classes. Children are groomed at an early age with explicit sexual information making them vulnerable to porn, sex trafficking, and other sexual crimes.

Fifty shades of childhood trauma

Mar 7 2015 The Post and Courier Charleston, SC

Almost every woman I know has read “Fifty Shades of Grey.” I had no interest in it. But when my sister-in-law came to visit, she brought the trilogy, and I saw a way to sample a few pages without a real commitment. To my surprise, I finished all three novels. They are not, however, the books that everyone else seems to have read.

The key fact of “Fifty Shades” is not what the billionaire bondage enthusiast does to women; it’s what was done to him. As a child, Christian Grey was physically abused and neglected; as a young teenager, he was sexually abused by a socially prominent friend of his adoptive mother. It’s no surprise, therefore, that these indelible scars drive his behavior with women. “Fifty Shades” is built on one of the oldest myths in the history of abuse: The abused becomes the abuser.

I understand the attraction of a handsome, young, rich man. I appreciate that women in settled relationships might respond to a spicy story. But in a country where 25 percent of all adults have suffered some form of abuse, I wonder if readers aren’t also — or primarily — responding to the trilogy’s unacknowledged theme. Although we may not acknowledge it or want to share it, those of us who have struggled with the trauma of childhood sexual abuse see glimpses of our own struggle within Christian’s story. We pull for this hero/villain to move from his shadowy past and into a healthy relationship. We want him to triumph over his past. And, first and foremost, we want him to break the chain of the abused becoming abusers — we want no more victims.

As the founder of an organization that seeks to prevent sexual abuse of children, I went looking for reviews and articles that connected this theme to Christian Grey’s behavior. I couldn’t find one. Of the many explorations of Christian’s obsession with bondage and domination, none mentioned abuse.

Tellingly, nothing I read connected this fictional trilogy to three non-fiction situations that have experienced the same primary element: Penn State, the Boy Scouts and the Catholic Church. In each case, there were abusers accomplished in their pursuit of young victims. They groom. They misrepresent what’s happening. They convince the victim that this is what he wants.

Later, when these cases become public, many of us are shocked. We can’t believe anyone would ever do that. But there’s no longer any reason to be blind to offensive, illegal behavior. There are trainings that teach adults how to protect children. And there are programs and books for children that show them the limits of appropriate adult behavior.

Those who devoured “Fifty Shades of Grey” — and, as many do, want to talk about it — would do well to go online to find local community resources and national organizations that combat childhood sexual abuse. They should do whatever they feel is appropriate to protect the children in their lives. Then, when they next talk about the book, they’ll have something compelling, relevant and useful to add to the conversation.

Anne Lee, Founder of Darkness to Light

Heritage Keepers® Abstinence-Until-Marriage Education Program is a Partner in Prevention with Darkness to Light. All staff are trained annually by Darkness to Light in how to prevent child sexual abuse. As mandated reporters, Heritage Keepers® believes that it is the adult’s (educators) responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation, not the child’s responsibility to know that they are being groomed for sex!

ACORN vs. Abstinence Education Programs

The following Op Ed, entitled Abstinence Ed, first appeared in The Post and Courier, in Charleston, SC, July 31, 2014.

ACORN sting

Most people are aware that Congress cut off funds for ACORN after the organization was filmed undercover, advising potential clients on how to start a brothel.

I am sure the public is not aware, however, that President Obama and Congress defunded 169 contracted abstinence education providers across the country, effectively putting most out of business in 2010.

Heritage Keepers, a program I am familiar with in South Carolina, had to let 50 teachers go, even though Health and Human Services later put their curriculum on its approved list for middle and high schools as an evidence-based pregnancy prevention program.

For over a decade, anti-abstinence organizations have systematically portrayed abstinence education as an application of Bible-belt reactionary sentiment and as being rooted in ignorance.

However, the program above is based on a Utah statistician’s study of risk factors for teen sex on five continents.

As an example, he identified a child’s future orientation – whether he had aspirations beyond high school – as a risk factor for early sex. Those factors that could be impacted in a classroom setting were included in the syllabus.

Teachers were trained in medical accuracy and periodically evaluated on how well they impacted the attitudes and behavior of their students after the classes.

The South Carolina program served over 200,000 students before funding was cut. After one year, students receiving this program abstained at a rate three times greater than comparable non-program students.

The program was proven effective across age, gender and racial lines, regardless of a student’s sexual history. It was evaluated by Mathematica Policy Research, a Princeton, N.J., independent contractor.

The evidence against ACORN was anecdotal, with only a handful of observations. The evidence for good abstinence programs in our state is empirical, and is based on extensive documentation.

Pro-Life? Choose Heritage Keepers® Abstinence Education!

Featured

Are you pro-life? Are you one of the millions praying about, and protesting the devastating impacts of abortion and the destruction of millions of innocent children and families by Roe v Wade over the past forty years?

Are you supporting and working in your local Pregnancy Care Centers to give women the option to choose life rather than abortion?

We are glad you are out there. We need you, more than ever, to help save our nation and stop the carnage.

The sheeple of America have been lead down the path of “sexual freedom” for so long that they do not recognize real freedom anymore.

For too long, the consequences of sex outside of marriage have enslaved generations to believe that multiple sexual partners, hook-ups, abortion, STDs, hormonal birth control, cohabitation-not-marriage, adultery, divorce, dysfunctional relationships, unrelated family members, domestic violence, child abuse, sexual abuse, illiterate and unskilled workers, generational poverty, and unstoppable entitlements are just normal and the best that we can ever expect out of life is Chaotic Family Formation.

To make matters worse, prevailing solutions for all of these social ills is to push more and more of the same in order to justify the insanity we all endure. More and more Safe Sex programs that lead more and more generations to experience the same enslavement as their parents.

That way, no one feels left out, guilty, or weird.

As pro-life advocates, we know that there is a much better way to live our lives. And, Pregnancy Care Centers help young women and their partners every day to make life affirming decisions, not only for their children, but for their own futures.

But, what about children who are now just entering puberty and will face similar life changing decisions? Many of them will be parents in just a few years!

How can we help them avoid the risky behaviors that the Planned Parenthood/SIECUS and Obamacare Networks are pushing them towards and that have been institutionalized for them in our schools?

While pro-life efforts are successfully defeating Planned Parenthood on local and state levels, we must also support efforts to teach children about:

Healthy Family Formation; abstinence from sexual activity until marriage and fidelity within marriage. We must teach children the character-based life skills they need to restore the Life Script that science and experience have proven, over and over, works for a successful life.

Delay sex until marriage, get an education, get a good job and become self-sufficient, establish a healthy, faithful marriage, and then have and raise children within marriage.

Pass it down, generation to generation.

This is the Life Script that was promoted by social service agencies for decades, and then dropped out of fear that it would offend someone. It is the Life Script that is ordained by God, has worked for centuries, and that built America.

So, why do so many organizations in the Planned Parenthood/SIECUS Network, seek to dismantle the proven Life Script in order to destroy their children’s future?

Are they trying to destroy humanity around the world from within?

What behaviors are taught to persuade our youth to choose temporary sexual fun and pleasure, and ultimately destruction, over a successful, fulfilling family life?

Pro-life efforts must promote life and liberty for all age groups, including our adolescents, teens and young adults. They are in danger of becoming sexually active and forced to make unnecessary decisions about birth control, pregnancies, and disease. Decisions that can wait until they are fully mature and ready for a life-long marriage, if they follow the Life Script.

Abstinence-until Marriage and Fidelity-within-Marriage is the only way to teach our children the Life Script. There are many good programs available, but Heritage Keepers® is the only one – so far – that has made it to the list of Evidence-based Teen Pregnancy Prevention programs sanctioned by the Federal government.

This is important because now there is at least one program out of 31 on the US HHS list that is truly pro-family, pro-abstinence, pro-marriage, and promotes the Life Script. Heritage Keepers®, is the science-based Abstinence Education program developed by Heritage Community Services (Heritage).

Heritage is a “spin-off” of the Lowcountry Pregnancy Center. Both organizations, based in Charleston, SC were founded by Anne Badgley, a visionary and pro-family advocate. After ten years of building the Lowcountry Pregnancy Center, Badgley decided that teens needed to hear compelling, science-based reasons to abstain from sexual activity until marriage and pursue healthy marriages.

Now, almost twenty-years after starting Heritage, Heritage Keepers® is the first and only abstinence-until-marriage program to be nationally recognized by the Federal government.

A year after the program, students initiated sexual activity at a rate that is 67% lower than students not receiving the program.

Heritage Keepers® is  proven effective and until 2 years ago was not listed on the US HHS website of evidence-based Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs. This is “the list” of programs that school districts refer to when looking for an evidence-based program for your children.

What happened 2 years ago? Research and evaluations convinced US HHS that Heritage Keepers® should be added to the list and they “cracked the Holy Grail!” Now, it is the only program on the list that is truly abstinence-until-marriage.

Heritage Keepers® is not ashamed to teach the benefits of abstinence and the benefits of marriage to teens.

All of the other programs that are being funded with your tax money, may claim to be “abstinence-only” or “abstinence-based” but are either abstinence-until-you-don’t-want-to-anymore or blatantly safe sex/sexual foreplay programs promoted by the Planned Parenthood Network. They also, may not teach marriage, at all.

Seriously, consider Heritage Keepers® for your community, school district, or pregnancy center! Shouldn’t every adolescent, teen, young adult and singles get a strong compelling abstinence-until-marriage education program before they hear anything else?

How else will they know about healthy family formation, rather than so-called planned parenthood or family planning?

Think and act holistically about the fight to end abortion. We need to engage teens before they have sex, get pregnant or even get to the point of considering abortion. Remember those on the front lines teaching kids that abstinence until marriage is the best reproductive sexual health message.

Promote abstinence-until-marriage education as the best way for youth to rebel against the establishment (Planned Parenthood/SIECUS/Obamacare) and seek success by following the proven Life Script.

Without quality, evidence-based abstinence education in your schools and community, future generations are doomed to repeat the errors of the past fifty years.  CHAOS.
